Animation player

The Animation player allows to get animated views of your quasi-static or dynamic simulations. You will have access to the Animation player either as you open the post-processing window from a .DSK file or open a .DSS file directly.

The Animation player displays beside the 3D View window, in the upper left corner of the main window. It consists of the following :

  • Analysis part selection drop-down list : use this drop-down box to select which part of the analysis you want to display in the 3D View window. As the post-processing window opens, the default position is set to Default, which means that the view displayed is the original view you have created in your .DSK project file. Depending on which type of analysis you have run, you may also access the followings items : Static, Dynamic and Modal.

  • Horizontal scroll-bar : this scroll-bar allows to select which frame you want to display in the 3D View window. The frames may correspond either to a snapshot (for a quasi-static analysis), a time-step (for a dynamic analysis) or a mode number (for a modal analysis).

  • Action buttons : these buttons allow to Play the animation (the frames will be displayed one after the other), to Pause the simulation, or go one frame forward or backward.

  • Generate .AVI animation file : When pressed, this button displays a dialog window from which you may define various options related to the .AVI file you want to create. See more details on how you may generate such files.
