Running Hull dynamic pressures

The "Hull dynamic pressures" post-processing in DeepLines encompasses a specific exectuable called " ptidom.exe " which may be used as a stand alone executable (this executable is installed in the same folder as Deeplines).

DeepLines GUI allows managing batches of requests of "ptidom" as such:

  • First, the different requests ("cases") are to be defined;

  • When "Generate batch" is activated:

    • A folder "ptidom" is created nearby the DSK (or HDSK) file with an input file "PTiDom.pti";

  • For every request, a specific subfolder is created with the name of DeepLines analysis; For instance, for the simulation "dynamic_regular", ptidom will provide results in the repertory "$PATH\ptidom\dynamic_regular\".

  • Then, two files are automatically created by GUI into the subfolder:

    • File with the Floater motions time series post-processed from the associated DeepLines analysis. The naming convention for this file is motion_XX_Analysis_Name.txt; for instance, in our example: motion_ALL_Dynamic_Regular.txt since the whole floater's hull is considered.

    • File with the information about the wave spectrum used during the simulation. The naming convention is wave_Analysis_Name.txt since the wave defintion is independant from the selected (sub)structure.

  • Finally, to launch the post-processing, the input file "ptidom.pti" shall be transferred to the batch mode as such:
