Static curves
Two types of requests are available for the Static curves window:
-
Step Evolution: results will be computed at each step of the specified time steps range.
-
Snapshot: results will be computed for all the abscissa of the object at the specified time step.
-
X-Y Plots: X-Y plots may be drawn for both Step evolution and Snapshot plots types. You must go through the following steps to draw an X-Y plot :
-
Select the X-Y plot option by ticking the X-Y ploat checkbox
-
Select X-axis in the Axis selection frame and specify the variable that will correspond to the X-axis (for example X-position along line)
-
Select Y-axis in the Axis selection frame and specify the variable that will correspond to the Y-axis (for example Y-position along line)
-
Click the Add curve button to add the X-Y plot into the list of post-processing requests.
-
Note
In case the Snapshot option is activated, only lines objects are displayed in the Objects box that lists the components of the model.
Features :
-
For a line object, a position must be selected either giving an abscissa or selecting a primary point of the object.
-
For a floater object, one can select either the COG or a fairlead.
-
When stress results is requested, it is possible to specify the number of section point.
-
When line gap result is requested, it is possible to specify the number of control points on the line
-
Once you have selected all the needed information, press the Add curves button.
Tip
When requesting a step evolution, you may specify several abscissa with the
following syntax:
Abscissa1 ; Abscissa2 ; Abscissa3 ;
When requesting a snapshot, it is possible to specify several time steps with
the following syntax:
Step1 ; Step2 ; Step3 ;
or
Begin Step End Step
It is also possible to specify series of abscissa with the following syntax :
(S_min>S_max):Delta_S
for example "(0>50):10" would be equivalent to "0;10;20;30;40;50"
Dynamic curves
Three types of requests are available for the Dynamic curves window:
-
Time Evolution: results will be computed at each time of the specified time steps range.
-
Snapshot: results will be computed for all the abscissa of the object at the specified time step.
Note
In case the Snapshot option is activated, only lines objects are displayed in the Objects box that lists the components of the model.
-
X-Y Plots: X-Y plots may be drawn for both Time evolution and Snapshot plots types.
-
-
Envelop: results will be computed along the line and for all the time steps of the specified time steps range. Three curves will be plotted :
-
Minimum of all the values along the line
-
Maximum of all the values along the line
-
Average of all the values along the line
-
Note
X-Y plots are not available for envelops.
Features:
-
For a line object, a position must be selected either giving an abscissa or selecting a primary point of the object.
-
For a floater object, one can select either the COG or a fairlead.
-
When stress results are requested, it is possible to specify the number of section points.
-
When requesting for a line gap result, it is possible to further specify the number of control points along the line
-
Once you have selected all the required information, press the Add curves button.
Tip
When requesting a time evolution, it is possible to specify several abscissa
with the following syntax:
Abscissa1 ; Abscissa2 ; Abscissa3 ;
When requesting a snapshot, it is possible to specify several time steps with
the following syntax:
Time1 ; Time2 ; Time3 ;
Tip
In case you want to extract the same type of result for different objects, you may select several objects at the same time by holding the CTRL key pressed.
