Spectral curves requests
The tab is divided in several parts, as follows :
-
Type of graph: select either response spectrum or RMS snapshot depending on the type of result desired.
-
Advanced button: Click this button if you wish to tune the numerical parameters used in the algorithms which calculate the response spectrum or RMS values from the time-history of the variable. These advanced parameters are detailed here.
Note
This option is useful only when deriving spectral response from time domain dynamic analyses. Advanced parameters can be disregarded when deriving spectral response from frequency domain dynamic analyses. In this case indeed the spectrum is computed based on the amplitude of variation of the quantity, function of the circular frequency (Spectrum(w)=Amplitude(w)/(2Dw)).
Note
A cross-spectrum analysis of time histories produced through time- domain dynamic analyses is performed. The Advanced button allows to set-up numerical input parameters required for the cross-spectrum analysis algorithm.
- Object and Variable Selection panels: Use these panels to select the type of variable for which you wish to get the spectrum or RMS value.
Once your request is fully defined, press the Add Curve button placed in the bottom-right corner of the window to add your request to the set of post- processing tasks to be done.
The window looks like :
