Post-Processing of BOP Stack components
Post-processing of analyses including BOP Stack components can be launched once the analysis is completed by opening the corresponding .DSS file.
The GUI includes a dedicated post-processing module for analyses which include BOP Stack components. This module can be accessed from the general post- processing window by selecting the BOP Study tab illustrated below :
This module allows you to :
-
Create a new post-processing request : Click the Add new case
-
Delete existing post-processing requests
-
Launch post-processing execution
-
Edit results
Creating new post-processing requests: Click the Add new case button and select the combination of lines and analyses to be processed. Your selection is validated by pressing the OK button :
Deleting existing post-processing requests: You may delete any existing request from the group of requests by selecting the row containing the request and pressing the Delete button.
Launching post-processing execution: Once all your requests are defined, you may run the associated post-processing tasks by clicking the Launch post- processing button. Post-processing is done in active mode only (and cannot be run in batch).
Editing the results: Once post-processing execution is over, you may edit the results by clicking the Show results button. Results are presented in a tabular form as shown below :
Each tab contains the results for a single line and each row corresponds to one analysis. The second column indicates whether the design criteria on minimum allowable bending radius and minimum clearance allowed with the BOP Stack components are satisfied.
Post-treatment calculations consist in checking the following :
-
Maximum curvature (and position) in the pipe : values are computed over all quasi-static steps. The Maximum curvature is compared to the Maximum allowable curvature from the formula Minimum Bending Radius = 1/ (Maximum allowable curvature), where Minimum Bending Radius is defined for each segment of a pipe.
-
Clashing between pipe and any structure (beam, pods, flexjoint): Values of the minimum clearance.
-
Pipe exceed overall dimensions, based on outside box
-
If there is more than one line (and therefore more than one analysis) check contact between any two pairs of line.
