Clearance post-processing results
Clearance post-processing results are displayed in the Results tab once processing is complete.
The Results tab may include several Case tabs which display the results associated with your Cases defined in the Request tab.
Every Case tabs include series of results presented in a table. This table includes the following results :
-
Name: The name of the post-processing request as defined in the Request tab. This enables identification of the case.
-
Minimum clearance: The minimum clearance value associated with the post-processing request. This value is the minimum clearance recorded between the Lines (or part of the lines depending on the range of abscissa). Minimum clearance value reported in the table may be either centrelines clearance or contact clearance depending on the type of results defined in the Case tab. Cells with clearance results lower than the allowable clearance value defined in the Requests tab display in red.
Warning
The contact clearance is derived straight from the centerlines clearance and the outer diameters of both lines, as follows: Contact Clearance = Centerline Clearance - 0.5 x (D1+D2) where D1 and D2 denote the outer diameters of the 2 lines. It shall be noted that this calculation method does not account for the actual orientation of the lines.
*** Associated abscissa in Model 1**: Position along the first Line (curvilinear abscissa) at which the minimum clearance was recorded.
-
Associated abscissa in Model 2: Position along the second Line (curvilinear abscissa) at which the minimum clearance was recorded.
-
Associated Step / Time: Static step or time at which the minimum clearance was recorded.
Exporting the results to Excel or CSV files:
Clearance analysis results may be exported to an Excel file by clicking the Export to Excel button. The Excel file will include several Case tabs according to the Cases defined in the Request tab.
Clearance analysis results may also be exported to Comma Separated Values files (.CSV) file by clicking the Export to CSV* button.
Export of results may be done in batch mode with the Batch Processing form which is available from the Tools menu in the GUI.
