Tool bars
The toolbars placed in the upper part of the GUI allows to manage your model files and build the model. They can be docked below the menu bar, switched on and off via the View menu item, and can be positioned anywhere on your screen by picking up the handle on the left hand side or the local title bar with the mouse.

Open an existing .DSK, .DSS, .DSF or .DSO file. You may change the .DSK filename filter proposed by default as the open dialog displays. | |
Save the file currently opened. | |
Cut an object from a .DSK model file. | |
Copy an object from a .DSK model file to the clipboard. | |
Paste an object from the clipboard to a .DSK model file. | |
Capture the graphic area. You may either copy the 3D view window content to the clipboard or save it as a Bitmap file. | |
Print an object. | |
Display information about DeepLines. | |
Display the Context help topic associated with an object in the GUI. Click this button then while the '?' symbol is shown next to the mouse pointer, click a GUI object such as a button. Note, not all items have context help. | |
Open the QA Information pane corresponding to the .DSK model file currently opened. | |
Pressing this button opens the Hydrodynamic Database files viewer. | |
Open the Lines checker, which enables to check lines properties. | |
Tile windows horizontally. | |
Tile windows vertically. | |
Define a zoom box in the 3D View window. Click this button, and then drag the mouse over the 3D View window while holding the left mouse button pressed to define a rectangular zoom box. Tip : The zoom box may also be displayed by holding the SHIFT key + left mouse button and dragging the mouse over the 3D View window | |

Displace any object or primary point in the horizontal plane. Click this button, select the object or primary point from the 3D view window, and drag it to a new position (move the mouse while holding the left mouse button pressed). | |
Displace any object or primary point vertically. Click this button, select the object or primary point from the 3D view window, and drag it to a new position (move the mouse while holding the left mouse button pressed). | |
Connect two connection points. Click this button, select the first point to be connected (displays in red) with the mouse, and then the second point (displays in green). Press the ESC key to abort the operation. | |
Insert primary point. | |
Delete multiple objects from the model. Once you have clicked this button, a dialog displays that presents the list of existing objects in your model. Select which objects you want to remove and then press the Delete button. | |
Delete multiple line types from the model. Once you have clicked this button, a dialog displays that presents the list of existing line types in your model. Select which line types you want to remove and then press the Delete button. | |
Delete multiple analysis from the model. Once you have clicked this button, a dialog displays that presents the list of existing analysis in your model. Select which analysis you want to remove and then press the Delete button. |

Create a new Floater (FPSO, CALM buoy, Semisub, SPAR, Drill ship, Drill Semi, Generic floater). Default is FPSO. | |
Creates a new line. Pressing the arrow on the right side of the button allows to further specify the type of line which can be either Flexible line, Generic line, Drilling riser, Trelline, Winch or Pipe with bends. Default is Generic line. Series of lines components may also be imported to the GUI from special formatted text files, by using the Create from mesh menu item. This option is for instance useful when generating lines | |

Import-Export between model files. This button is enabled when two models are opened in the GUI. | |
Show local axes | |
Show local axes along Line components. This button is enabled only when a simulation results file is opened. Clicking this buttno brings a dataform in which you may select the Line Components along which you would like to display the local axes. Displaying the local axes along Line components allows identifying bending axes and torsion along Line components. | |
Show finite elements segmentation. Each node located at the ends of the finite elements displays in red. | |
Display lines as 3D cylinders with their actual diameter. | |
Show / Hide compass in the upper right corner of the 3D View window. | |
Create a new User-defined keywords. | |
