Running Batch Jobs

Running your batch jobs

You may start processing your batch jobs included in the list of batch jobs by clicking Run on the main Batch Processing form. Processing of batch jobs always starts with the first Pending job in the list. The Run button automatically switches into Pause button when jobs are running.

Default batch jobs status is set to Pending, indicating that the job is ready to be processed. The status is turned to Running when the process associated with the batch job is actually running.

Pausing your batch jobs

Processing of the batch jobs may be paused by clicking the Pause button. A warning message displays in the bottom part of the main form, indicating that running processes are being paused. Running jobs must be completed or failed before you can do further changes to the list of batch jobs.

Aborting running batch jobs

Batch jobs may be aborted while they are running by clicking the Abort button. Clicking the Abort button will abort all running batch jobs. You may also abort a single batch job by right-clicking the batch job to be aborted and then selecting the Abort item from the pop-up menu. Other running jobs will not be aborted in this case.

Monitoring the progress of your FE analyses

The progress of FE analyses (i.e. batch jobs associated with LOG file and the Run Analysis command) may be monitored while they are running by right- clicking the batch job in the list and further selecting the Open DAY file item. The contents of the DAY file is updated while the analysis is running.

Enabling multi-threaded processing

Multi-threaded processing of batch jobs (with several jobs running concurrently) may be activated through the optional settings which display by clicking the Options button.
