Optional Settings
Optional settings may be defined from the Batch Processing Options form which displays when clicking the Options button on the main Batch Processing form.
These settings in particular enable activating multi-threaded processing of batch jobs. Optional settings are detailed below.
User interface settings:
-
Close user interface when batch jobs complete: Activating this option will close the Batch Processing form and the main DeepLines form once all batch jobs have been successfully completed. This enables releasing your claim on the network license upon completion of your batch jobs.
-
Automatically remove completed jobs from queue: Activating this option will automatically remove all batch jobs that were successfully completed from the current list of batch jobs. Completed batch jobs are therefore successively removed from the current list during processing. All batch jobs that were not successfully completed (e.g. failed or aborted) will remain in the current list of batch jobs. Activating this option therefore eases identification of jobs which failed.
Processing settings:
- Enabling multi-threading: Activating this option enables multi-threaded processing of your batch jobs. Enabling multi-threaded processing is useful for machines equipped with multi-cores processors. The batch jobs included in the list will be processed concurrently using several processor cores. For instance, if you use a dual-core processor, you could run the list of batch jobs with 2 concurrent process.
The number of simultaneous batch jobs may be defined from the associated data field. The number of simultaneous jobs is limited to 4 which typically corresponds to a quad-cores machine.
Note
Activating multi-threaded processing of batch jobs has no effect on the number of license claims. Running 4 process concurrently will still take up a single network license.
-
Set low priority to all batch jobs: This option sets low priority to all batch jobs included in the list of batch jobs. This enables running your batch jobs using all available processor cores without impacting other external processes.
-
Start scheduled processing of batch jobs: Delays processing of batch jobs included in the batch jobs list.
Display settings:
-
Display job priority data: Activating this option allows displaying the Job Priority column in the Batch Processing form.
-
Display job runtime data: Activating this option allows displaying the Runtime data column in the Batch Processing form. Runtime is the actual time elapsed since the start of the batch job. Data displayed in this column is not an estimate of the time-to-go.
-
Character font size: This sets the size of the font used in the main table of the Batch Processing form. You may select either Small, Medium or Large font sizes. The Small font size is mainly appropriate for screens with low resolution.
