Predefined results

The Predefined results facility is a convenient way to avoid repetitively multiple post-processing requests, and maintain these requests available from the Model file (.DSK).

Suppose for instance that you define two analyses based on the same lines but with different environmental conditions, and that you are interested in the tension and curvature envelops. The simplest way to proceed in order to get these results is to define the first analysis and a number of Predefined results as detailed next. Then, as you copy this analysis, the Predefined results will still be linked to the new analysis so you will not have to define the post-processing requests again. A few changes may need to be made to the new analyses so as to select the appropriate objects that define the environmental loads.

You may define a number of Predefined results simply by double clicking the Predefined results label corresponding to any analysis in the Model browser. A new window appears, from which you can define any result you want using the different tabs. More details on how to define your post-processing requests may be found in the Post-processing Requests Section.

Warning

You are of course not obliged to define any Predefined result when creating an analysis, and may leave all the corresponding data fields blank. Think about Predefined results as an option that allows you to get a number of results immediately when opening the Simulation result file (.DSS).

Note

Mooring files and RCN files requests must always be defined as Predefined results, since they will be actually created by the FE engine during the calculation - this indeed implies that these requests must be defined prior to editing the Analysis input file (.LOG).
