Lines Properties

The Lines Properties tab summarizes the relationship between each line and the internal and external contents attributes that are to be considered for the analysis.

The Lines Properties tab in the Calculation Parameters dialogue therefore provides a means to assign internal and external contents to lines.

The tab is occupied by a table featuring the following columns:

  • Line name: This column lists all Line components that are included in the analysis. The content of this columns cannot be changed.

  • Internal fluid: This columns lists the names of the Internal Fluid data that are assigned to the Lines. "Default" means that the default internal fluid data which are set in the Line data form will be used. You can assign any other Internal Fluid type among the existing types by selecting an alternate item in the cell.

  • Contents variation: This columns lists the names of the Internal Contents Variation data that are assigned to the Lines. "Default" means that the default Internal Contents Variation data which are set in the Line data form will be used. You can assign any other Internal Contents Variation type among the existing types by selecting an alternate item in the cell.

  • External fluid: This columns lists the names of the External Fluid data that are assigned to the Lines. "Default" means that the default external fluid data which are set in the Line data form will be used. You can assign any other External Fluid type among the existing types by selecting an alternate item in the cell.

  • Hydrodynamic settings: This columns lists the names of the Hydrodynamic data that are assigned to the Lines. "Default" means that the default Hydrodynamic data which are set in the Line data form will be used. You can assign any other drag/lift data type among the existing types by selecting an alternate item in the cell.

  • Marine Growth: This columns lists the names of the Marine Growth data that is assigned to the Lines. You can assign any other Marine Growth type among the existing valid types by selecting an alternate item in the cell.

Note

'Default' entered in a cell in the table indicates that the property defined within the line will be used. Any other entry reflects the actual content attribute set for that line. The table is 'live' - i.e. you can change the settings (assuming attributes exist) for any line.

Warning

Contents variation and hydrodynamic settings cannot be set for drilling riser or Trelline therefore these properties are set to '-' for such items.

Note

This table can be imported/exported to/from Excel.
