Analyses sets for BOP Stack
Dedicated type of Analyses Sets are used to manage all analyses including BOP Stack components.
Corresponding Analyses Set panel allows to select a BOP stack component, associated displacement and line components. It also allows to define all calculation parameters for the analyses. Each analysis from the newly created Analyses Set will include a single line.
To prepare the analyses, you first need to create a new Analyses Set for BOP Stack component. Right click on the Analyses Sets item from the Model Browser and select New BS Analysis Set from the pop-up menu, as illustrated below :
Once the Analyses Set is created, you may edit and define its properties by double clicking the Analyses Set from the Model Browser. The following Editing Analyses Set window will display :
Select the components to be included in the analyses and set the Calculation Parameters.
Default Calculation Parameters define quasi-static analyses with 16 load steps which is consistent with the incremental loading table used with incremental rotation.
Clicking the Edit BOP stack parameters button will display the following dialog :
Enter the minimum acceptable distance between the lines and all components attached to the BOP Stack object. This value will be used as a design criterion in the post-processing stage. Setting this value to zero means that the design criterion will be satisfied unless the distance becomes zero, i.e. until clashing occurs.
Once all parameters are defined, you may click OK to validate all settings and generate the analyses.
Click the Yes button to let the GUI define all the analyses of the Analyses Set. The analyses will now display in the Model Browser as illustrated below for example.
