Waves

The Edit wave pane allows you to define all the waves characteristics. You can define one wave at a time within this window.

Each single wave is characterized by the following general parameters :

  • Name: Enter the name of the Wave component.

  • Color: the color used to display the wave object in the 3D view window

  • Type: You may select the type of wave within the drop down list box. These are characterised as either regular (Airy or Stokes 5th order) or irregular waves (7 different spectra available).

  • Heading: the wave heading is positive from the X-axis to the Y-axis (anti-clockwise when seen from above).

Depending on the wave type you have selected, you may input different parameters in the bottom part of the window: see Regular wave or Irregular wave for further details.
