Rigid body general data
These data can be defined from the top part of the Edit rigid body pane.
-
Name: Enter the name of the Rigid body component.
-
Coordinates of reference point: Enter the three X,Y,Z coordinates of the reference point, expressed in the global reference frame. These will determine the position of your rigid body.
Note
the reference point corresponds to the mesh origin (0,0,0).
-
State Linked to: Use this drop-down box to specify whether your rigid body is free, anchored or linked to another object in your model. When anchored, you must specify which type of connection should be used. In case your rigid body is linked to another object - a floater or a buoy for instance - you must define to which attach point your object is linked, in addition to the type of connection.
-
Rotation vector: The rotation vector defines the direction about which your rigid body will rotate should you specify an angle of rotation. This allows to turn the rigid body towards any direction you like, without being required to adjust the meshing in the original drawing ASCII file. This option is not available if the Rigid body is attached to another model component.
-
Angle of rotation (in degrees): When necessary, this is the angle value that will be used to rotate the drawing about the direction specified through the rotation vector.
