*CONNECTION

Keywords for ASCII file to be imported in DeepLines

Data cards :

An arbitrary number of lines, each line having one these two following syntaxes:

ID_Co No_ID1 No_ID2 No _IDN

or

ID_Co No_ID1 No_ID2 No _IDN ; mesh.DAT

Purpose :

To define a connection between beams by the use of a rigid body component. Each beam will be connected to a fairlead node of the rigid body component

Details :

Parameter Description
ID_Co Identification number of the connection. The Identifier of the connection must be an integer if it is referenced as a node ID of a tubular intersection (seeJOINTS). For code check computation and when the connection is used to define a joint, the connection ID must be a node ID which should be referenced in the NODE section. The coordinates of this node are the coordinates of the meeting point of all the beams not taking account their eccentricities. Otherwise, it can be a string. The ID (integer or string) is used to name the rigid body object when loading the file in DeepLines
No_IDi Identification number of the nodes to be connected (previously defined with *NODE)
mesh.DAT The surface meshing data file used for the geometry of the rigid body
