Floater motion

The Motion sheet is used to define the default dynamic motion of the Floater. This is made by assigning a default Floater motion type to the Floater.

A selection box allowing you to choose the name of the Floater motion type to be considered by default. This selection box lists all Floater motion types that are available in the model browser under the Types folder.

An Edit button allows opening the Floater motion type pane that is selected in the selection box.

Note

The Floater motion type defined in this sheet sets the default Floater motion type that is associated with the Floater. The default Floater motion type may be superseded with any other existing Floater motion type as follows:

  • specify the Floater motion type to be used in the Calculation parameters associated with the analyses. This allows conveniently running multiple analyses with the same Floater while changing the Floater motion type.

  • specify the Floater motion type to be used for every combination of environmental loadings in the Environment Set component.

Note

A Floater motion type must exist before you can choose it in the selection box. A default Floater Motion type is automatically created with each new Floater. Other Floater motion types can be created either by selecting the "New floater motion type" item in the Model menu, or from the Model Browser by right-clicking the folder named "Floater motion types".
