BOP Stack

The BOP Stack component is a customized component which allows simple definition of BOP Stack for the design of kill and choke flexible lines. This component is available with the DEEP_LMRP optional license key.

This component can be inserted in the model by pressing the New Equipment button from the toolbar and selecting the BOP Stack item.

Each BOP Stack comes with a predefined displacement object that will allow to simulate the rotation about the flexjoint.

  • General Parameters : these include the name of your BOP Stack component, the reference in global frame and the heading with respect to the X-axis direction.

  • Bottom connections : use this tab to define all bottom connections for the flexible lines.

  • Elements : use this tab to define elements attached to the BOP Stack for display and lines contact assessment.

  • Flexjoints and riser adapter : use this tab to define all top connections for the flexible lines.

  • Guid posts : use this tab to define guid posts attached to the BOP Stack for display and lines contact assessment.

  • Overall dimensions box : use this tab to define the BOP Stack surrounding box used to select the component within the 3D View window and check through post-processing that the flexible lines will stay within this box over the simulation.

Display and visual contact check between the lines and either attached component is facilitated through the 2D View windows which display independent XY and XZ views.
