*PINER

Data format:

An arbitrary number of cards with 3 values each

IP CINH CINV

Status :

Optional

Purpose :

To define local inertia coefficients

Restrictions :

The node IP must have been previously defined . The total number of nodes where drag, lift or inertia coefficients introduced may not exceed MAXBOU which is a version dependent parameter.

Details :

Parameter Description
IP Identification number of the node where the coefficient has to be applied
CINH Coefficient for the calculation of the horizontal inertia component (factor of the horizontal water particles acceleration)
CINV Coefficient for the calculation of the vertical inertia component

Notes :

  • Usual calculation of those coefficients :

CINH = RHO * CIH * DISPL CINV = RHO * CIV * DISPL

where CIH and CIV are Morison inertia coefficients and DISPL is the volume displaced by the floater.

  • Standard values for a vertical cylinder with two hemispherical caps are : CIH = 1.7 - CIV = 1.3
