Purpose :

Soil models have been developped in Norway through a research program (ref. 20150014-11-R_Rev0_3D_Foundation Model Library.pdf)

Three types of models are proposed as "macro elements", each with a specific .dll; This .dll can be called by DeepLines to model the soil

In DeepLines, the macro element is represented by a rigid body free in space and located at the intersection soil/monopile.

Two nodes are defined on that body:

  • One to connect the monopile

  • One to be linked with the soil dll. Note that this node is oriented downwards to be aligned with the .dll frame of reference
