*INICURV
Data format:
There are two different options to define parameters related to this keyword.
if IOP=0, define one line with one parameter folowed by an arbitrary number of lines with 7 parameters each. If IOP=1 a single line is defined
IRIS IOP
absc1 vx1 vy1 vz1 curx1 cury1 curz1
...
abscn vxn vyn vzn curxn curxn curxn
Status :
Optional
Purpose :
To define a initial curvature along the riser. The unstressed reference configuration will be the line shape including bends. This option can be used to model rigid spools for instance.
Restriction :
IRIS must be previously defined.
Details :
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
IRIS | Identification number of the riser (defined |
by *RISER) | |
IOP | - IOP = 0 : initial curvature to be defined with extra line - IOP = 1: The initial curvature (and elongation) is based on the initial position of the nodes (preferred option) |
If IOP = 0 , the following information are provided along the line:
-
absc(i) : cuvilinear abscissa alon the line (curved position from end node End_1)
-
vx(i) : First coordinate of the vector X in local frame
-
vy(i) : Second coordinate of the vector X in local frame
-
vz(i) : Third coordinate of the vector X in local frame
-
curx(i) : initial curvature (m-1) about the X-axis at curvilinear abscissa i
-
cury(i) : initial curvature (m-1) about the beam axisat curvilinear abscissa i
-
curz(i) : initial curvature (m-1) about the third at curvilinear abscissa i
Note
This option associated with the option "user shape defined" of the GUI is the simplest way to define an unstressed initial state. It is recommended to define rigid spools.
