Purpose:

To define the efficiency of VIV suppression devices and associated List ofelements.

Restriction:

The elements to which VIV suppression devices efficiency is assigned must have been previously defined.

Details :

Parameter	Description
EFF	Efficiency of the VIV suppression device. The efficiency must be a real value between 0 (no reduction in lift force) and 1 (100% efficiency with zero lift force). Note: The efficiency rate of usual strakes is about 90% which means that the original lift coefficient (CL) curve function of the amplitude over diameter ratio (A/D) is factored by (1-0.9). You should set the efficiency of the VIV suppression device to 0.9 in this case.
ELENB	Identification numbers of the elements where the VIV suppression device shall be accounted for. Example: Assigning a VIV suppression device efficiency of 90% to elements 10 to 15 could write either: DAMPVIV 0.9 10 11 12 13 14 15 or DAMPVIV 0.9 10 - 15
