Welcome to DeepLines Version 5.8.
DeepLines and its module Wind is an integrated software dedicated to the design of a large variety of offshore systems:
- Moored floating platforms (FPSO, CALM buoy, Windturbine...),
- Fixed structures (Jacket, monopile...),
- Flexible or rigid risers,
- Pipelines,
- Floating hoses,
- Umbilicals, fiber optical cables, power cables.
The software package combines a powerful beam finite elements engine with
advanced modeling capabilities (contacts, diffraction/radiation, non-linear laws) and an intuitive user interface offering
optimum productivity through multi-tasking.
DeepLines allows performing both in-place analyses (fatigue, extreme, accidental) and installation scenarii and offers advanced post-processing features (structural code checks, rainflow couting, clash checks).
This numerical tool is based on the program Flexan, initially developed for
flexible risers and used from 1980 by Coflexip Stena Offshore (CSO).
Ever since, DeepLinesTM field of application has been extended to perform
conceptual, basic and detail design of different systems in the Oil & Gas
industry : drilling risers, hybrid towers, bonded and unbonded flexible
risers, offloading lines, fibre optical cables.
In the 90ies, the DeepWater context requires the introduction of coupled
simulations for the overall analysis of a Floating Production System. To do
so, DeepLinesTM was closely coupled with DiodoreTM, the diffraction/radiation
solution developed by PRINCIPIA, to take into account the interactions between
any floating unit and its mooring lines or risers. External links with other
diffraction/radiation softwares were also made possible.
At last, to address the needs for an overall design tool raised by the
development of offshore windturbines platforms, a new module DeepLines WIND
was created in 2011. For that purpose, DeepLinesTM structural model was
extended to handle wind turbine specificities, specifically for the modelling
of blades and rotors rotation. Several BEM models are implemented in an
external DLL to calculate the aerodynamic loads.
